Man Shot As He Exits Glen Burnie Sunoco Gas Station

shootingOn September 24, 2013, at approximately 1:04 a.m., officers from the Eastern District responded to the 400 block of Secret Bend in Glen Burnie for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 21-year-old male victim from Millersville, Maryland, who indicated that he was shot while he was a passenger in a vehicle at the Sunoco Gas Station located in the 300 block of Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was exiting the lot when a second vehicle pulled alongside. At that time, a suspect got out of the driver’s side and shot twice through the driver’s side of the vehicle the victim was in, striking the victim once in the abdomen. The suspect then entered back into his vehicle and fled the scene in an unknown direction. Several officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspect or suspect vehicle.

The victim was transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore via ambulance and is currently in critical, but stable condition. Eastern District Detectives were notified and are currently interviewing a witness and have assumed responsibility for the investigation. Preliminarily, this does not appear to be a random act of violence. Suspect: Black male, 6’0” with a heavy build, wearing a black t-shirt and a red baseball hat

Suspect Vehicle: Blue or black full size pickup with tinted windows, possibly four wheel drive
