Cleo’s Fine Oils & Vinegars in the Annapolis Towne Centre will bring the insight of California olive oil production to local clientele with a free tasting event in September featuring the unique perspective of an industry leader.
Tuesday, September 24, from 6-7 p.m., Patricia Darragh, the Executive Director of the California Olive Oil Council, will join Cleo’s co-owner and olive oil enthusiast Saleta Cameron in guiding participants in the qualities and benefits of this vibrant elixir.
“While most people are familiar with the health benefits of olive oil, such as the reduction of heart disease and lower cholesterol levels,” said Cameron, “the California Olive Oil Council takes the industry one step further by offering a stringent certification for producers and a focus on sustainable practices.”
Darragh is no stranger to Cleo’s Fine Oils and Vinegars, one of the largest independent retailers of California Olive Oils on the East Coast.
“Selecting only the finest products and ensuring certified quality, Cleo’s is a COOC highly recommended retail resource for consumers,” Darragh said. “Consumers can be assured of Cleo’s commitment to standards and sustainable practice.”
The free, reservation-only tasting event is open to the first 20 respondents. Activities will include the tasting, light hors d’oeuvres, wine and a door prize. Reservations can be made by calling 410.266.5540 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
