Pair Distracted Victims, Stole Credit Cards.  Anne Arundel County police a man and woman have been arrested in connection with theft in which the pair would steal from distracted women and use the stolen credit cards to make fraudulent purchases. Police said the pair would target female shoppers at local grocery stores and distract them while stealing their wallets. The suspects would then use the victim’s credit cards at various businesses to make fraudulent purchases.

Moms Hold Breastfeeding Protest At BWI.  A group of mothers staged a protest at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on Wednesday morning over policies about breastfeeding on planes. The group said it is angry over what it considers the poor treatment of a Laurel mom during a recent American Airlines flight. That woman said a stewardess asked her twice to cover up her 5-month-old son when she was feeding him.

Police: Craigslist Scammer Busted.  Anne Arundel County police detectives arrested a man accused of using a business to help supply his Craigslist scheme. Police learned that a man placed an order for a large amount of building materials from a supply company in Baltimore City. He placed the order for roof shingles under a local roofing and siding company’s name in Anne Arundel County without their knowledge, police said.

Anne Arundel Runs Checks On New Employees. Anne Arundel County is running criminal background checks on hundreds of new employees as part of the district’s commitment to keep students and staff safe. Top school administrators said they’d rather be safe than sorry when it comes to security, so they’re paying attention to the details that matter. The fingerprinting office is inside the lobby at the county’s school system headquarters and is one of the most important stops for the newly hired, including people like Candi Duncan, who has taken a job as a school bus assistant. She’s also a mother of three.
