Baysox Bounce back To Top SeaWolves

Baysox AdBehind six strong innings from Eduardo Rodrifuez the Bowie Baysox (71-69) beat the Erie SeaWolves (75-64) 6-1 to clinch their seventh straight .500 or better season.

Garabez Rosa got the scoring started in the second inning with a solo home run to give the Baysox a 1-0 lead.

In the third, the Baysox added two more runs.  Gariel Alvarez and Brian Ward hit back-to-back singles to start the inning then were both bunted over by Johnny Ruettiger.  Niuman Romero followed with a two-run single to make the score 3-0.

The Baysox tacked on an additional run in the sixth inning.  With one out, Caleb Joseph singled and Rosa brought him home with an RBI double to make the score 4-0.

In the eighth inning the Baysox scored two more runs.  Buck Britton led off with a walk and Joseph singled.  On a Rosa groundout, both runners moved up a base to set up second and third.  Then with two outs, Travis Adair knocked them both in with a two-run single to make the score 6-0.

In the ninth, the SeaWolves got their lone run of the game on a solo home run by Tyler Collins to make the score 6-1.

Rodriguez picked up the win going six shutout innings and allowing just five hits while striking out six and walking one.

The loss went to Victor Larez who allowed three runs on four hits in five innings of work.
