Thomas Point Shoal Tours Continue

Thomas Point ShoalThe US Lighthouse Society along with the Annapolis Maritime Museum have completed several guided tours of the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse in the Chesapeake Bay south of Annapolis so far the 2013 season.  Over 100 guests have experienced the magic of this National Historic Landmark from the inside out.

These guided tours begin with a boat ride out to the lighthouse where you will step back to the ‘50’s to see and understand the life of a US Coast Guard Keeper.  Additionally you will see the nearly finished restoration of the sitting room and galley with time specific artifacts as to how keepers lived in just 800 square feet back in the early 1900’s

The period furnishings, equipment, memorabilia and information are impressive; combined with unique views and photo opportunities, make for a very pleasant, informative and magical day on the Bay.

Tours are limited and just four dates** remain this year:

  • August 17, 24,
  • September 14, 28
