Just before 5:00am this morning, a fire involving at least three boats broke out at the Oak Grove Marina.  First arriving crews reported the boats were all at least 30′ in length.

Burning fuel quickly leaked out to the South River and the Maryland Department of the Environment has been dispatched to evaluate any environmental damage while crews used foam to contain the burning fuel.

One 45′ boat was reported to have been partially sunk with its bow in the water. Multiple land units and multiple fire boats are working on the scene.

Witnesses at the scene are reporting that 3 large boats have been destroyed and portions of the pier.  Developing.

Oak Grove Marina was the site of a boat explosion on Memorial Day Weekend.

WUSA-9 has an outstanding slide show of aerial images from the fire.

South River Source was on the scene and has some great photos of the damage to the boats and marina.
