Baysox Fall To Squirrels In Extra Innings

Baysox 2013IMG_9694The Bowie Baysox (51-49) had two lead off walks come back to hurt them late on Saturday night as they lost 2-1 in 10 innings to the Richmond Flying Squirrels (46-55).

The Baysox got the scoring started in the top of the third inning.  With one out Kyle Hudson reached on a bunt single.  Then with two outs in the inning Niuman Romero doubled to bring home Hudson and give the Baysox a 1-0 lead.

In the eighth inning, the Squirrels evened up the score.  Jarrett Parker walked, Juan Ciriaco singled and Javier Herrera bunted them both over.  Then on a walk to Joe Panik, Oliver Drake threw a wild pitch that allowed Parker to score to tie up the game at 1-1.

The Squirrels then won it in 10 innings.  Ryan Lollis drew a lead off walk and Parker bunted him over.  Then with two outs, Herrera singled to right to bring home the game winning run.

Cody Hall threw two shutout innings in the ninth and 10th to get the win.

The loss went to Clay Schrader who surrendered the run in the 10th inning.
