Urrutia Mashes Baysox Past Senators

BaysoxThe Bowie Baysox (27-28) hit three home runs on Tuesday night against the Harrisburg Senators (29-29) and won 6-5.

Henry Urrutia went 4-for-4 with two home runs and five runs batted in to lead the way for the Baysox offense.  It was Urrutia’s first multi-home run game, first four-hit game and most RBI in a game.

The Baysox jumped out to the fast start in the top of the first inning.  Ty Kelly reached on an error and Niuman Romero singled to put two on.  Then Urrutia blasted his fourth home run of the season to give the Baysox a 3-0 lead.

Harrisburg answered right back in the bottom half of the inning.  Steven Souza and Jerad Head hit back-to-back one out singles.  Then Justin Bloxom followed with another single that brought home Souza and on the play an error by center fielder Steven Bumbry allowed Head to score as well and cut the lead to 3-2.

Justin Bloxom gave the Senators the lead in the third inning with a two-out, two-run home run to make the score 4-3.

The Senators added another run in the fourth with a solo home run by Destin Hood to extend the lead to 5-3.

In the fifth inning, Urrutia hit his second home run of the game, a two-run shot that tied up the game 5-5.

Steven Bumbry gave the Baysox the lead in the ninth when he hit his third home run of the season that made the score 6-5.

Matt Bischoff threw two scoreless innings in relief to pick up the victory for the Baysox.

Zech Zinicola nailed down his 10th save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning.

Tomorrow in game two RHP Eddie Gamboa (1-3, 4.30) will take on RHP Blake Treinen (4-5, 4.38) at 7:00 p.m.
