Anne Arundel County Artists Featured At St. John’s Mitchell Gallery

St. Johns COllegeForty-two Anne Arundel County artists will participate in the national juried exhibition, “Less is More: Small Works in a Great Space,” on view from May 30 to June 19 at the Mitchell Gallery at St. John’s College. The exhibition features small original works of art in a variety of media including paintings, fine jewelry, sculptures and more. Local artists in the exhibition include: Ward Anderson, Deborah Holden Banker, Joan Bell, c l bigelow, Burton Blistein, Joan Brady, Jean Brinton-Jaecks, Margaret Rose Caro, Sandra J. Cohen, Terry Coker Peterson, Ken Cosgrove, Sheila DeLaquil, Don Dement, David Alsn Diaz, Patricia N. Doty, Kim Farcot, Nancy Lee Galloway, John T. Hanou, Neil Harpe, Daniel Boris Heifitz, Merrilyne Ann Hendrickson, Gail Joann Higginbotham, John A. Jensen, Warren Kahle, Joan B. Machinchick, Barbara Madden-Swain, Ebby Malmgren, John McClure, Kass McGowan, Richard C. Montgomery, Angela Petruncio, Jolene Randazzo, Catherine Reisky Haigney, George Sass, Eric Mcallister Smith, Murray Taylor, Michael E. Thorpe, M. Sigrid Hollace Trumpy, Erika H. Walsh, Alice Webb, Mary Ellen Weissenhainer, and Elsie Barber Whitman, Sr.

“Less is More: Small Works in a Great Space,” celebrates the gallery’s recent accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums. A Premiere Opening, where guests will have the first opportunity to purchase the original works of art in the exhibition, will be held in the Mitchell Gallery and the Francis Scott Key Lobby on Wednesday, May 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $75. Food and beverages will be provided by local restaurants and businesses. Live music will be performed by the Rob Levit Duo. Proceeds from the exhibition support Mitchell Gallery educational programs.
