Maryland Safe Boating Courses Offered At Pip Moyer Rec Center

boatshineAnnapolis Recreation and Parks will host two Maryland Safe Boating courses this summer – one in June and one in July.

The eight-hour course and test satisfies Maryland law for any person born after July 1, 1972 to operate a boat on Maryland waters. The Maryland Safe Boating course covers legal requirements, navigation rules, preparation and trailers, accidents, weather and water conditions, water sports, sailing and personal watercraft. The two courses will be held:

  • Monday, June 24 and Thursday, June 27, 6 – 10 p.m., register with # 5591
  • Monday, July 8 and Thursday, July 11, 6 – 10 p.m., register with # 5592

The Maryland Safe Boating courses are held at the “Pip” Moyer Recreation Center at Truxtun Park located at 273 Hilltop Lane in Annapolis.

The cost is $25 per person, and for ages 10 and up. Registrants under the age 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
