Volunteers Needed To Clean Up Truxtun Park Skate Park

Annapolis Parks and RecAnnapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen, Recreation and Parks Director Brian Woodward, and skate board enthusiasts from across Annapolis, invite you to join Pure Board Shop owner Robby Roberts to help clean up and open up the Truxtun Skate Park.

“The City of Annapolis, Pure Board Shop, and skaters from Annapolis partnered to create the Truxtun Skate Park as an area for local skaters to gather and share their enthusiasm for the sport in a safe and pleasant environment,” Mayor Cohen said.  “With volunteer help, it will stay that way.”

On Saturday, May 11, the City will host a volunteer workday to make repairs to the ramps, boxes, rails, and hardware that constitute the Skate Park. The Annapolis Recreation and Parks Department will provide all of the construction materials, but need interested volunteers to tighten bolts, hammer nails, carry lumber, and bring the park back to its original condition.

Pure Board Shop will be having free raffles for skate products and will host a lunch to thank the volunteers for helping rejuvenate the skate park.

To volunteer, please show up Saturday, May 11, 9 a.m., at 200 Pump House Road, in Annapolis. Please wear sturdy shoes (no open-toe shoes or flip-flops) and bring work gloves and eye protection, if available.

If you have questions please call the Department of Recreation and Parks at 410-263-7958 or Pure Board Shop at 410-267-7669. You can also e-mail [email protected] to volunteer or for more information.
