Several People Injured In Edgewater Boat Explosion. Several people, including children, were injured in a boat explosion at an Anne Arundel County marina. The explosion happened at the Oak Grove Marina at 2820 Solomon’s Island Road in Edgewater around 12 p.m. Monday. Investigators said nine people were on board a 32-foot vessel when an explosion and flash fire erupted in the stern.

Police: Burglars Pose As Utility Workers In Anne Arundel.  Anne Arundel County police said there is an ongoing investigation into several incidents in which burglars are posing as utility workers. The burglaries happened between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. during the month of May, police said.

Obama Calls On Strengths Of Naval Academy Graduates. About 1,000 midshipmen graduated from the prestigious U.S. Naval Academy on Friday, as President Barack Obama called on their strength and compassion to help the country going forward. Family members of the graduates started lining up in four huge lines by 6 a.m. so they could get inside Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis in time for the start of the ceremony at 10 a.m. The midshipmen were officially commissioned as officers in either the Navy or the Marine Corps.

Woman Cited For Bringing Weapon To BWI. A Maryland woman has been cited after Transportation Security Administration officers found a knife in her carry-on bag at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. TSA spotted a large double-edged tactical hunting knife in the woman’s carry-on bag Thursday evening. The military-style, 12-inch knife had a 6-inch long double-sided blade and was clipped into a black sheath she had in her bag, officials said.
