Police: Man Fell Off Boat, Drowned In Edgewater. A man is dead after an apparent drowning in Anne Arundel County. Firefighters and water rescue crews responded to the Holiday Hill Marina in Mayo around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a 911 call that a man had fallen overboard at the marina. Preliminary information showed a male victim fell off a sailboat at the marina. The man’s age wasn’t known.

Anne Arundel County Achievement Gap Narrows. Black students appear to be making progress in the classroom in Anne Arundel County, one of only a few school districts in the nation that agreed in writing to try to close the achievement gap between black and white students. The landmark pact won the praise of parents and local educators, but the question remains: “Is it working?”

Police: Teens Robbed At Gunpoint In Severn.  Two attempted armed robberies are under investigation, police in Anne Arundel County said. Around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 17-year-old victim told police he was approached by a robber, who was armed with a handgun. The victim said the incident happened in the area of Indian Drive at Flintlock Court in Severn around 6:30 a.m. that day.

Police Ask For Public’s Help Finding Burglar.  Police are asking the public to be on the lookout after several burglaries in an Anne Arundel County neighborhood. Officers were called to the community of Harmans in Hanover on Saturday after multiple reports of attempted home burglaries and a burglary. In three of the incidents, police said a burglar attempted to get inside the home, but was not successful.
