A Special Annapolis Memorial Day Parade

Annapolis celebrated Memorial Day with a parade and followed it up with a ceremony at Susan Campbell Park. The streets were lines and children cheered at the different groups that passed along the parade route, while parents paid their respects to those who gave their lives fighting for our Nation.  Enjoy the photos and then scroll down for a more personal Memorial Day remembrance.

A More Personal Memorial Day

Mr. McCarthy has a tradition to remember two of his fallen friends. On every Memorial Day he comes in and buys two beers that are placed on the end of the bar in honor and memory of his two friends that were killed in action during the Vietnam War. The two beers, with the names and the company info of the fallen soldiers, stay at the end of the bar until last call.

MiltMcC-1Mr. McCarthy served in Vietnam from 1968-1969. His 2 friends,  Stephen O. White and Elton B. Collins both with D Company 4th Battalion 503rd Infantry 173rd Airborne Brigade, were killed while fighting on Dec. 30,1968. Mr. McCarthy does not forget!
