Bar Patron Accused Of Stabbing Man, Crashing Harley. A Glen Burnie man was arrested over the weekend after police said he stabbed a man in a bar parking lot, got on his motorcycle and then wrecked it not far from the bar. Anne Arundel County police arrested Brian Smith, 45, shortly after midnight Sunday near Birch and Magnolia avenues in Glen Burnie.

Maryland Marine Mourned At Funeral. Family members described William Taylor Wild IV as a loving son, caring brother and consummate Marine during a funeral Friday for the 21-year-old who was killed along with six others last week when a mortar shell exploded during a training exercise at a base in Nevada. Hundreds of friends, loved ones and neighbors poured in to Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis.

State Funding Saves Towson Baseball. Funding from the governor’s supplemental budget will save baseball at Towson University. The university announced early last month that the baseball and soccer programs would end to balance the athletic budget and comply with Title IX. The school had said it is not in compliance with Title IX requirements for female student-athlete enrollment and support.

Curtain Call: Recher Theater Holds Last Concert. Sunday marked the last concert of a live music staple in Towson, as The Recher Theatre has officially closed its doors to undergo a transformation. The sold-out concert started around 1 p.m. Sunday and kept going into early Monday morning. The day-long celebration included 17 bands, many of which played at the Recher on a regular basis over the past two decades. The concert was a benefit to raise funds for cystic fibrosis research.
