Roll The Dice! Table Games Now Open. Roll the dice and deal those cards. Live table games have officially begun operating at Hanover’s Maryland Live Casino. The casino opened its table games for business at 12:01 a.m. Thursday for the first time, making the casino look a little bit more like Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Gamblers at the Anne Arundel County casino can now try their luck at games like poker, blackjack, craps and roulette.

Armed Teen Faces Charges After Entering SchoolAnne Arundel County police said two teens, one of them armed, face charges after entering a school in Millersville. Police said they believe 18-year-old Norman Hardy entered Old Mill High School near arrival time at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday and made his way into a class while a 14-year-old remained outside.

Crews Battle Odenton, Maryland City Brush Fires. Anne Arundel fire crews worked to extinguish two separate brush fires on Wednesday afternoon. A two-alarm brush fire was reported on the 8200 block of Water Lily Way in Maryland City around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Officials said the fire was eventually contained to about four to five acres.

Employee Fends Off Gun-Wielding Robber.  An employee was able to fend off a gun-wielding robber at a Glen Burnie business, police said. Anne Arundel County police officers responded to Mikie’s restaurant in the 1200 block of Crain Highway North around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday for a report of an attempted robbery. Police said a man with a gun entered the business and confronted an employee, who began to fight back. The male employee took the gun during the struggle and struck the robber repeatedly with it, police said.
