Pair Arrested For Attempted Murder In Unrelated Incidents

Two people were arrested yesterday and charged with attempted second degree murder resulting from fights that ended in stabbings in separate, unrelated incidents in Crownsville and Linthicum.

On April 8, 2013, at approximately 5:45 p.m., officers from the Western District responded to the 1500 block of Crownsville Road in Crownsville for a report of two men fighting. Additional information was relayed to police indicating one of the men was armed with a knife.     

Upon arrival, officers separated the two men and recovered the knife that was believed to have been used in the incident. Initial investigation indicated that the suspect became enraged as he was looking for his roommate to give him a ride home from his place of employment only to find that his roommate was at home. It was learned that the suspect arrived home and assaulted his 40-year-old male roommate. According to the victim and at least one witness, the suspect pulled out a hunting knife and threatened to stab or cut the victim. The victim then attempted to flee when the suspect threw the knife at the victim two times, missing both times.

Responding officers arrived and arrested the suspect. The victim sustained a small laceration on his forearm at some point during the incident, but refused medical treatment. The suspect was charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment and related charges.

On April 8, 2013, at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers from Northern District responded to the 200 block of Minta Court in Linthicum for a report of a stabbing that just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 35-year-old male victim, who advised that he had just been stabbed inside of his residence. Further investigation determined that a verbal altercation took place inside the residence on Minta Court. During the course of the verbal altercation, the 25-year-old female suspect assaulted a 26-year-old female inside of the residence. The female victim’s boyfriend attempted to intervene and he was then stabbed by the female suspect in the upper torso.

As officers from Northern District were arriving on the scene, they were able to apprehend the suspect without incident. The victim was taken to Shock Trauma for treatment of serious injuries. The suspect was charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second degree Assault (two counts) and Reckless Endangerment.
