Katie Snyder, a Social Studies teacher and track coach at Old Mill High School in Millersville, has been relieved of her duties and reassigned pending an investigation according to school officials. In a letter sent home this afternoon, Principal James Todd stated that the teacher’s leave would be indefinite and they were working to arrange long term substitutes to take over her duties. This comes on the heels of another incident at the school where a former student and an adult were arrested for trespassing and weapons violations.
I am writing today to let you know about a change in our teaching staff and leadership in several programs. Social studies teacher and assistant track coach Kate Snyder has been reassigned by the school system and will be away from our school indefinitely.
A substitute teacher is currently in place for Ms. Snyder’s academic classes, and we will continue to consult with the Office of Investigations and other school system administrators as to whether we need to find a long-term replacement for Ms. Snyder. In addition, Ms. Snyder has also been relieved of her duties as assistant track coach, Student Government Association advisor, and senior class advisor while this investigation is under way. We will make the necessary adjustments to ensure that those groups continue their activities in Ms. Snyder’s absence.
While the school will not release any details citing that the investigation is a “personnel matter”, Eye On Annapolis has received information surrounding the allegations which we are attempting to confirm, however, it is safe to say that the incident revolves around inappropriate behavior.
While the announcement came from the school today, Twitter began seeing conversations about it as early as Wednesday when students began to suspect the teacher was arrested.

Yet others seemed not surprised.
Not at all surprised by what is happening to Ms. Snyder. She made it quite obvious she was into the athletes at Old Mill.

This tweet was posted of the teacher partying. It is unknown if the others in the photos are students.
