On Tuesday, April 9th, the Eastport Democratic Club honored Georgetown East Elementary School, a public school established in 1972, for many years of invaluable service to the community. Club President, Valerie Mills-Cooper presented Principal T. Andre Dillard and PTA President, Irene Ruth Cooper with checks totaling $1,650.; the sum represents proceeds generated from the club’s 2013 Eastport Green Beer Races that were held on March 16th.  School representatives hope to use the proceeds for their music department, a school play, PTA projects and another fundraiser, Spring Carnival.

Eastport Democratic Club is a private club located at 525 State Street in the “Village of Eastport.” The club was originally founded in 1929 and seeks to celebrate a spirited sense of community.  Memberships and volunteer opportunities are currently available.  For more information, please contact: Jeni Parris Brady (Media Coordinator) at 443.871.9088 or go to www.EastportDC.com.
