Crab Feast Grant Recipients Announced

crabThe Rotary Club of Annapolis has announced grants totaling $43,400 from the net proceeds of the August 2012 World’s Largest Crab Feast. The club received requests from 43 organizations for more than $155,740, and funded 25 of the requests. Recipients and amounts distributed are:

  • $3,500 – Rebuilding Together.
  • $3,100 – Boys and Girls Clubs of Annapolis.
  • $3,000 – Anne Arundel County Food and Resource Bank..
  • $2,500 – Box of Rain Foundation, Wellness House of Annapolis, and Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.
  • $2,100 – Anne Arundel County Victims Fund.
  • $2,000 – Creating Communities Inc., Anne Arundel County CASA, Partners in Care, Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, and Annapolis Maritime Museum.
  • $1,500 – Sandra Shanahan, CPNP, Inc.; Assistance League of the Chesapeake; and the Stanton Center.
  • $1,000 – Providence Center, First Presbyterian Church STAIR program, Severn Riverkeeper program, Bay Theatre Company, YMCA Camp Letts, Rise for Autism, Maryland Therapeutic Riding, Friends of the Light House, and Brewer Hill Cemetery Association Inc.
  • $700 – Leadership Anne Arundel.

Now 92 years old, the Rotary Club of Annapolis raises funds each year at its crab feast to distribute to local organizations to improve the quality of life in the community. The club will sponsor the 68th annual World’s Largest Crab Feast from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. Tickets are $60 for adults, $20 for children ages 3 to 12, and free for children under the age of 3. Preferred Dining is $120 per person. For information, call 1-877-333-9667.
