The death of the Bladensburg police officer who was involved in a crash this weekend on Route 100 in Pasadena has been ruled a suicide according to the state’s medical examiner.
Anne Arundel County Police believe the officer shot himself while driving on eastbound Route 100. His marked cruiser then crossed over the median and collided with another vehicle before ultimately crashing into the guardrail.
A State Police helicopter was dispatched but canceled when his injuries were deemed too severe and he was transported to BWMC where he later died.
Brian Johnson was a 9 year veteran of the Bladensburg Police Department as well as a 15 year volunteer with the Bladensburg Fire Department.
