3 Alarm Fire In Heritage Harbor

UPDATE 04:15pm:  From the Anne Arundel County Fire Department:

Around 11:40 a.m. on April 10, 2013, 911 calls were received reporting a dwelling fire in the 2600 block of Compass Drive in Annapolis.  The first unit to arrive on the scene reported a one-story multi-dwelling complex well involved in fire.  3 Alarms were requested bringing a total of 64 Firefighters to the scene.  The incident was placed under control at 1:00 p.m. and caused a total of $750,000 to the four homes.

Three adults displaced by the fire are currently being assisted by the Red Cross.  The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation and no injuries were reported.


UPDATE 12:20pm:
Fire crews are continuing to extinguish the blaze but have put it under control.

UPDATE 12:08pm: Crews have evacuated all of the surrounding homes and are mounting a defensive exterior attack on the fire with large master streams

A quadplex located in the 2600 block of Compass Drive in the Heritage Harbor community outside of Annapolis is currently on fire. Anne Arundel County fire crews were dispatched shortly before noon.

On arrival, firefighters called for a second alarm and went to work trying to save the three other homes in the multiple family unit. By 12:02pm, the fire had spread to the other homes.

There is no word of injuries at this point.
