Bruce Handford

Award-winning watercolorist, Bruce Handford has entertained viewers with his energetic paintings for over 20 years. With strong light and shadow, Handford’s loose painterly style captures the essence of the subject while focusing on the feeling and mood of the moment.

Watercolor Artist magazine published an article, “Spirited Strokes”, interviewed Handford, and used his painting, “Zed’s Barn” on the cover of the June 2012 issue. He was quoted as saying, “My goal is to make something flow. I want to bring out the best properties of watercolor as spontaneous and fresh as I can.”

Bruce Handford is a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society, Watercolor West, North East Watercolor Society and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. He is an elected member of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters.

On Saturday, April 20th, Handford will teach a one-day watercolor workshop in the Annapolis area, all levels of experience welcomed. Call the gallery for more information.
