Updated Information In Davidsonville Murder

UpdateThe Anne Arundel County Police have release a few more details in the death of a Davidsonville woman in her home earlier this month. The female victim was discovered by two acquaintances in her home on March 22nd.

The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Nicole C. Burgess of 3317 Royale Glen Court in Davidsonville, Maryland. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore has determined the cause of death as multiple stab wounds and the manner as homicide.

After a necropsy was performed on the deceased dog, a Pitbull mix, it was determined that the dog died as a result of multiple stab wounds as well. At this time, it appears the death of the female victim and the dog are connected, however, the motive in this case is unknown. It is also unclear if this was a random or targeted incident.

This remains an active homicide investigation. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Detective Vince Carbonaro of the Homicide Unit at 410-222-3453.
