Emmaus Center

Emmaus Center is a faith-based organization that supports forgotten people who have no place to call home. It does this through an ongoing relationship with the people they serve helping them rise above homelessness, joblessness, and hopelessness. Emmaus Center is a place where the forgotten people in the area can come and share in the life of the community and find meaning and purpose in their lives. Through this life in community the people develop a sense of self-worth, and a range of positive relationship skills that assist them in rising out of the life situation they find themselves in and re-enter back into society. We need 1 or 2 volunteers, especially with PR experience, who are able to help with planning fundraising events, and procuring donations from local businesses. We also need volunteer help to extend opening hours from 2 to 4 pm. All volunteers at the Center are expected to share in clean-up activities. For more information, contact Barbara Hudgens at 410-766-7729 or [email protected] and see website: http://www.emmauscenter.net/.
