Firefighter Injured In 2-Alarm Arnold Blaze

FD_BannerAt 12:30 a.m. this morning, Anne Arundel County firefighters were dispatched to a reported dwelling fire in the 400 block of Beach Drive in Arnold.  The first unit to arrive on the scene reported fire evident from a two-story single family waterfront home. Crews immediately requested additional resources bringing approximately 61 firefighters to the scene from Anne Arundel, Annapolis, Naval Academy and Queen Anne County Fire Departments.  The 2-alarm incident was brought under control at 3:15 a.m.

No one was home at the time of the incident that caused significant damage to the home, as well as minor damage to an adjacent dwelling.  One firefighter was injured battling the blaze and was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis with minor burns.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
