Baltimore City Police Cadet Charged In Glen Burnie Assault

MitchellOn 3/21/13 at 4:33 PM, officers from the Northern District responded to the 100 block of Plymouth Lane for a domestic incident.  Officers were advised by a witness that a male and female were arguing in the parking lot.  The male was seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and the female was standing outside the vehicle.  The driver attempted to leave and struck the female with the vehicle in the process. The male didn’t leave and both parties went into the apartment building.

Officers arrived and attempted to make contact with the parties. Initially, neither party would answer the door to the residence.  Officers eventually made contact with both parties. Their investigation revealed a domestic related assault occurred. They observed redness and scratches on the victim’s legs.  The male was subsequently arrested for domestic assault. The victim refused medical treatment. The male was identified as an off-duty cadet with the Baltimore Police Department.  Baltimore Police supervisory personnel were contacted and advised of the arrest.

Arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault:  Zachary Michael  Mitchell, 24, of the 100 block of Plymouth Ln, Glen Burnie.
