Eighth Annual Mentoring Celebration And Awards Thursday, March 14, 2013

VolunteersThe Eighth Annual Mentoring Awards, sponsored by the Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County will be presented on Thursday, March 14, 2013, 6 – 8 pm at the Roger “Pip” Moyer Recreation Center at Truxton Park, 273 Hilltop Lane, Annapolis, MD 21401

The Keynote Speaker is Selwyn Ray, Vice President of Community Engagement and Partnership for Big Brothers Big Sisters and The Maryland Mentoring Partnership and formerly Executive Director of The Maryland Mentoring Partnership (MMP), where he oversaw statewide initiatives to increase the number and quality of mentoring programs providing children with caring adult mentors in their lives.

Ray will help us honor those who nurture the talent of our young people. He will share how you can reach out and help build their character and confidence, expand their universe and navigate a path to success.

Join the Volunteer Center on March 14th at this free celebration of the outstanding work done by mentors for young people in our community.

The evening will culminate with awards honoring mentoring programs, outstanding mentors and special recognition for “Lifetime Mentors”, Tom and Joy Loomis.

Annapolis Middle School will receive the first “Hope Square” award in recognition of the school’s efforts to create a Kids at Hope® Community in Anne Arundel County.

Although the event is free, a suggested donation of $10.00 for adults is appreciated to support youth mentoring initiatives in Anne Arundel County.  Space is limited.
