Armed Robbery At Edgewater Verizon Store

robberyOn March 5, 2013, at approximately 9:37 p.m., officers from the Southern District responded to the Verizon Executive Wireless store located in the unit block of Lee Airpark Drive in Edgewater for a report of an armed robbery of the business.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim, who indicated that he was closing the business when the two suspects walked in and began talking with him. One suspect approached him from behind and stuck what was believed to be a handgun in his back. The suspects then proceeded to take an unknown quantity of new cellular phones and U.S. currency before fleeing in an unknown direction. A search of the area was conducted with numerous ground units and a K-9 unit, but the suspects were not located. The victim was not injured in the incident.
