Ravens Defeat 49ers 34-31 To Become Super Bowl Champs. The Baltimore Ravens have defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 to become Super Bowl XLVII champions. A power outage at the Super Bowl put the nation’s biggest sporting event on hold for more than a half-hour Sunday, interrupting an otherwise electric, back-and-forth game that ended with Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens as NFL champions thanks to a 34-31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Super Bowl Parade Details Announced. The Baltimore Ravens have won the Super Bowl, which means the team will parade through town in celebration. Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announced the celebratory parade will take place starting at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at City Hall. The procession will then head south on Commerce Street, continue onto Pratt and Howard streets and end at M&T Bank Stadium.

John Leopold Resigns From Office.  Suspended Anne Arundel County Executive John R. Leopold has resigned from office days after he was found guilty of misconduct in office. Leopold submitted his resignation Friday afternoon effective immediately. Anne Arundel County Office spokesman David Abrams said Chief Administrative Officer John Hammond will remain acting county executive.

3 People Arrested In Glen Burnie HomicideAnne Arundel County police said they have arrested three people in connection with a homicide in Glen Burnie. Officers were called to the area of Tanyard Cove Road and Marley Neck Boulevard around 4 a.m. Sunday. Police said officers found two suspicious vehicles on a dirt road in that area. One vehicle, a Ford Explorer, was occupied by 24-year old Tremain Celos Calhoun and 27-year old Erica Tywanda Banks.
