WINEFESTATSTMICHAELS2013posterCruises on the Bay™ by Watermark® is pleased to announce a special roundtrip cruise and ticket package from Annapolis to the 4th Annual WineFest at St. Michaels on Saturday, April 27, 2013 aboard Lady Sarah. Guests on the “St. Michaels Wine Festival Cruise” will travel in luxury across the Chesapeake Bay to St. Michaels where they’ll attend the WineFest at St. Michaels. The food and wine event is a unique streetscape event held throughout the town featuring wine samplings, chef demos, gourmet foods, crafts, jazz music, art displays and more.

The cruise to St. Michaels will include a continental breakfast, and a wine expert will be on board providing commentary. Lady Sarah, one of Watermark’s finest yachts features a climate controlled enclosed lower level and an open top deck perfect for enjoying the Bay breeze. Lady Sarah was designed specifically for the Annapolis to St. Michaels, and she serves as the cruising vessel for Cruises on the Bay’s regularly offered “Day on the Bay to St. Michaels” cruise. “We specialize in providing many different ways to experience and enjoy the Chesapeake Bay region,” says Debbie Gosselin, president of Watermark, “It’s a pleasure to partner with the WineFest at St. Michaels to provide guests from the ‘Western Shore’ a fun and unique way to travel to the Eastern Shore to enjoy the town of St. Michaels during this one-of-a-kind festival.”

The cruise to St. Michaels is an enjoyable, comfortable 2-hour ride. A complimentary boxed meal will be served on the return trip to Annapolis. Guests will have 5 hours of leisure time in St. Michaels to enjoy the festival and quaint Eastern Shore town. “We are really excited to work with Watermark to provide guests with such a fun and different way to enjoy the Wine Festival. This event is a wonderful way to experience the charm of the Eastern Shore,” says Barbara Svenson, organizer of the St. Michaels WineFest.

At the festival, many businesses will offer wine tastings, great food, retail specials and much more. Wine aficionados will experience hundreds of highly rated US, International and Maryland wines. All attendees will be able to “walk St. Michaels” using their WineFest map as their guide or take shuttle busses provided by WineFest. Regional food specialties, artisans, renowned jazz musicians, and even historical characters from the colonial days of St Michaels will be participating in the event. To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the British attack on the town of St. Michaels during the War of 1812, WineFest will include an historic dimension with “colonists” who will set up camp in town to show off crafts and life during the 19th century. WineFest is a charity event that supports several local non-profit organizations. Jazz musicians set to perform on Saturday are The Fred Hughes Trio and Joe Martone.

All inclusive tickets are $129/person and include the roundtrip cruise, admission to the Wine Festival, continental breakfast and a boxed meal. The trip is a full day from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Boarding begins at 9:45am on Saturday, April 27th at City Dock in downtown Annapolis.
