Man Who Broke Into School Cleared For Trial. The man accused of sneaking into a high school in Glen Burnie and asking suspicious questions about school security will stand trial. The mental health status of Justin Beaumont, 25, has been under review for the past three weeks. On Tuesday, a judge ruled that he was competent to stand trial.

Couple Discovers Human Skull While Hiking. A man told police he and his girlfriend were bird-watching and hiking in Laurel when they saw what they thought was a human skull in the woods. The man called police after the discovery, and officers were called to the area of Spring Road and Whiskey Bottom Road around 12 p.m. Sunday. Authorities said The medical examiner also responded to the scene.

$14M+ May Be Cut From MD Schools During Sequestration. Maryland educators are among those bracing for deep budget cuts if the government sequestration becomes a reality. Maryland is going by the numbers they were given from the White House. More than $14 million could be slashed from the popular Title One Program, which pays for extra educational services for disadvantaged children across the state, especially in Baltimore City.

Teacher’s Aide Charged With Sexual Abuse. A teachers’ aide at Bel Air High School in Harford County has been charged with sexual abuse. Police said 24-year-old Anthony Farris is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student over the span of about four months between September and December of 2012. Authorities said the activity allegedly took place in one of the Bel Air High School offices.
