2 Overnight Fires Displace 10 In Anne Arundel

FD_BannerCounty Firefighters responded to two separate fires overnight in Odenton and Pasadena displacing a total of ten people.

The first incident occurred around 5 p.m. when calls were received reporting a house fire in the 500 block of Oakton Road in Odenton. Upon arrival, smoke and fire was evident from the basement of a two-story occupied dwelling. Twenty-eight personnel were able to bring this 1 Alarm incident under control in 40 minutes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and caused approximately $35,000 in total damage to the home. Smoke detectors did not activate in the incident that displaced three adults and five children. All are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The second fire occurred in Pasadena around 7 p.m. in the 8400 block of Bedford Road in Riviera Beach. Arriving units found a one-story occupied single family home with smoke and fire showing from the interior. Twenty-five Firefighters were able to bring the 1 Alarm incident under control in less than 30 minutes. A total of $50,000 in damage was reported which displaced two occupants. Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be unattended cooking.
