Jury Selection Continues In Leopold Misconduct Trial. The misconduct trial for embattled Anne Arundel County Executive John Leopold is under way. Jury selection began Wednesday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court and included a pool of 40 possible jurors, but the judge wants an additional 50 jurors on standby just in case. Eventually the pool will be whittled down to 12 jurors and four alternates come Thursday.

Winter Storm Warning Posted For Eastern Shore. Possible snow has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a winter storm warning for parts of Maryland on Thursday evening. The winter storm warning covers Dorchester, Wicomico and Somerset counties on the Eastern Shore from 6 p.m. Thursday to 1 a.m. Friday.  A winter storm watch for Montgomery, Howard, Anne Arundel, Prince George’s, St. Mary’s, Charles and Calvert counties was canceled overnight.

Maryland College Tuition To Go Up In Fall. The cost of a Maryland higher education will go up in the fall, according to the governor’s proposed budget for the fiscal year 2014. The proposal was released Wednesday. The news of a tuition hike didn’t come as a surprise to college presidents, already working with students to help make ends meet.

Police: Man Assaults Boy, 10, On Way To School. Authorities said a 10-year-old boy was assaulted by a stranger as he was walking to school Wednesday morning. Baltimore County police detectives are investigating the incident that happened at 8:25 a.m. while the boy was walking to Woodmoor Elementary School in Woodlawn.
