Police Investigating Attempted Abduction In Edgewater

Breaking NewsAt this hour, Anne Arundel County Police are investigating a reported abduction attempt in Edgewater.  At approximately 4:00pm, officers responded to the intersection of Edgemont and Hillside for a reported abduction of a teenage girl.

Eye On Annapolis spoke with Lt. Frank Tewey from the Anne Arundel County Police Department who stated that detectives are currently investigating the report. He stressed that they are investigating a report of an attempted abduction, and that at this time there is no safety concern for anyone in the area. No one was abducted; however, they are investigating fully.

A description of a vehicle was given and the police believe they have located the car, but do not have a confidence level at this point to ascertain if this report was legitimate, a misunderstanding, false, or a joke gone wrong.

To reiterate, there was no abduction; however, police are investigating it at this hour.
