Leopold Suspended After Guilty Verdict

breaking-newsChief Administrative Officer John Hammond is serving as Acting Anne Arundel County Executive as a result of the suspension of County Executive John R. Leopold from his duties.

The Maryland Constitution provides for suspension of an elected official upon a guilty finding in a criminal case. An executive order signed by County Executive Leopold was executed yesterday in anticipation of the verdict.
