PSC’s next Professional Soccer Combine for players looking to progress into the professional game will be held at Anne Arundel Community College on March 8th, 9th, and 10th.
The combine will be held on behalf of the Wilmington Hammerheads as they look to bolster their squad for the upcoming 2013 season. In attendance will be Head Coach David Irving and Assistant Coach Mark Briggs as they look to build upon their 2012 success where they progressed all the way to the Championship game.
The Hammerheads have used PSC to hold two combines in the last two months and have already seen four players invited into trial and three players offered contracts with the club from North Carolina. Their recent combine in the UK was featured on SkySports News here and resulted in two players being offered contracts – http://www.youtube.com/watch?
In 2012 the USL runners up used PSC’s combines and tours to sign five key members of their roster including defensive player of the year Yahaya Musa who was picked up from last years Maryland combine held in March 2012. Musa had been without a pro club for 2 years prior to the 2012 season.
The Hammerheads play at Legion Stadium where they average over 4000 fans a game. Head Coach David Irving was inducted into the hall of fame last year and his playing career included spells with Everton, Sheffield United and NASL giants Fort Lauderdale Strikers where he played alongside the likes of George Best and Gerd Muller.
Running the combine will be PSC Director Tom Taylor, who previously played for Real Maryland Monarchs when they were in the USL League alongside current Hammerheads captain Gareth Evans. Assisting at the event will be current Arundel College Assistant Coach John Custer who has worked with PSC for the past two years.
