Anne Arundel County police said an officer stopped a Volkswagen Jetta for a traffic violation on Route 3 South in the area of South Main Chapel around 9 p.m. Saturday. Police said the officer approached the car and detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from it.
Suspected Drug Dealer Arrested In Brooklyn Park. Anne Arundel County police said they arrested a suspected drug dealer in Brooklyn Park. Detectives executed a search warrant at the Budget Plaza Motel at 4806 Ritchie Highway around 3 p.m. Thursday. The search warrant was the culmination of a joint investigation between the Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City police departments regarding drug dealing in Linthicum, Brooklyn Park and South Baltimore areas.
PSC: Ratepayers Can Potentially Opt Out Of Smart Meters. Maryland’s Public Service Commission has decided ratepayers of three utilities can potentially opt-out of installing smart meters. The PSC issued an order on Monday that calls for additional proceedings to determine a preferred course. Regulators said that could be allowing customers to retain their current analog meter. They also said it could require all customers to receive a smart meter installed to operate in a radio frequency-free or near radio frequency-free manner.
