Woman Gets Probation On Animal Cruelty Charges. A Severna Park woman has been fined $2,000 for causing unnecessary pain and suffering to cats. Deanna Lusko, 50, was sentenced Tuesday in Annapolis to five years of probation. The Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office said the former owner of Cool Cats Rescue entered an Alford plea to five counts of causing unnecessary pain and five counts of failing to provide veterinary care.

Arundel School Officials Try To Tame Threat RumorsAnne Arundel County police are trying to control rumors of threats of possible acts of school violence that have been spreading over social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Police said the rumors are so widespread that they were compelled to try to put them to rest. The rumors deal mainly with possible acts of violence at 20 Anne Arundel County middle and high schools this coming Friday.

Man Arrested In Laurel Robbery.  Anne Arundel County police said they arrested one man and are looking for another in connection with a robbery in Laurel. Officers were called to 3500 block of Marcey Creek Road for report of a robbery around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday. A 37-year-old man told police he was reaching into his vehicle outside of his home when he saw a maroon Honda Civic stop in the roadway, and a man exited the car armed with a handgun, approached him and demanded money.

Anne Arundel County Police Arrest 5 In Drug Bust.  Anne Arundel County police said five people were arrested during a drug bust in Brooklyn Park. Detectives executed a search warrant at a home on the 900 block of Victory Avenue at 9:17 a.m. Tuesday. Authorities said a drug investigation and numerous neighborhood complaints of drug activity occurring at the home led to the warrant.
