After losing two main feeders on Thursday night that plunged the entire City into darkness, Baltimore Gas & Electric, tonight finds themselves dealing with nearly 1500 customers in the Annapolis Neck without power.
While there were significant winds earlier today, the power remained on for the Bay Ridge, Arundel on the Bay, and Oyster Harbor communities. But once things calmed down, the lights went out. Shortly after 7pm, the area was darkened when a line came down along Bay Ridge Road.
Initially, BGE had estimated that the repair would be complete by 9:30pm and when that time came and went, it was updated to 1:30am on December 23rd. The utility company is claiming the cause of the outage is “severe weather.”
Twitter was alive with criticisms of BGE, yet strangely, BGE remained silent on Twitter.

The Arundel on the Bay Neighborhood has been plagued with service failures for years and BGE has done little to make improvements. In October, BGE met with residents and elected officials with little resolve.
At this time, access into and out of the Bay Ridge community is blocked while crews work on the issue.
