Huff Insurance recently donated $5,000 to the Anne Arundel Community College Foundation in support of the W. Ray Huff Jr. Memorial Scholarship, established in memory of the late Ray Huff Jr.

Nancy and Jerry Nicklow, president and chief financial officer, respectively, of Huff Insurance, wanted to honor her father, Ray Huff Jr., by establishing the scholarship in his name in 2009. Huff represented District 31 in the Maryland House of Delegates for two terms, from 1986-1994, owned and operated his insurance company for 47 years and served in the Navy during the Korean War. The scholarship is awarded to residents of Anne Arundel County who are pursuing a degree in business and who demonstrate financial need.

Jerry Nicklow, a former student-athlete at AACC, is grateful for the opportunities afforded to him by attending the college. “Nancy and I are excited to be able to help others achieve their college aspirations and help shape the workforce of Anne Arundel County,” he said.
