Police Obtain Warrant For Suspect In Robinwood Murder

UpdateThe Annapolis Police Department has obtained a warrant for a suspect in the double shooting two days ago in the City’s Robinwood housing community. The incident resulted in the death of one man and left a woman in critical condition.

Despite the warning from police department, the Housing Authority of the City Of Annapolis (HACA)’s Director of Security, Joseph S. Johnson, stated, “we don’t have a maniac running around and shooting up people’s houses.”

The Annapolis Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant for Clarence Eugene Johnson III for the shooting death of Joseph Johnson, III and the shooting of Jana Jackson that occurred on December 12, 2012 at 1458 Tyler Avenue.

On December 12, 2012, at approximately 9:19 p.m. Annapolis police officers were dispatched to 1458 Tyler Avenue for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived they found the victims inside of the home. Joseph Johnson, III, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Jana Jackson was flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma where she remains in critical condition. Both victims suffered gunshot injuries. There is no family relationship between the victims and the suspect. However, the victims and the suspect knew each other. This was not a random act.

The warrant charges Clarence Eugene Johnson III with First Degree Murder, Second Degree Murder, Attempted First and Second Degree Murder, two counts of First and Second Degree Assault, 2 counts of Reckless Endangerment, and Discharging a Firearm.

Mr. Johnson should be considered armed and very dangerous.
