Navy Hockey Coach Fox Wins 100th Victory

Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen is pleased to congratulate Hockey Head Coach Michael Fox on a major career milestone.

“What an amazing achievement for Coach Fox,” Mayor Josh Cohen said. “I want to congratulate the coach, the assistant coaches, and the players for achieving 100 career victories. Above all, I want to thank Coach Fox for creating a team of athletic, confident, skilled adults that are in Annapolis to be schooled and trained to serve our country and become the future leaders of this great nation.”

During the November 11th game, Navy beat Lehigh University 7 to 0, marking the 100th career victory for the coach and giving the team a record of 16-3-1 (16 wins, 2 losses and 1 overtime loss) ranking them 11th in the Nation.

In addition to the career win, a hatrick of a different sort was achieved during that same game when junior forward Tommy Reed joined Navy Hockey’s elite 100 Point Club and junior forward Tom Kysil scored the 100th goal of his career. Krysil also leads the Country in the most goals scored.

Under Coach Fox’s leadership and “team” approach, Navy Hockey is a strong competitor in Division 1 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. Fox is well known and respected on the national level as a college hockey coach and his passion for the game is contagious.

Three league home games remain in this first half of the season at the Brigade Sports Complex (BSC), located at 64 Greenbury Point Road in Annapolis 21402.

  • November 30 against Villanova University
  • December 1 against Scranton University
  • December 7 against Towson University

And, for the first time, an Army /Navy Hockey game will be played at home on Friday January 25, 2013.

Mayor Cohen and Michael Fox served as City Aldermen together from 2001 to 2005 on the Annapolis City Council. Fox represented Ward 7 from 1997 to 2005.
