Police Probe Shooting At Laurel Walmart.  Anne Arundel County police are investigating a shooting at a Laurel Walmart store near Route 295. The shooting was reported at the store in the 3500 block of Russett Green around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday. It wasn’t immediately clear whether any people were injured or killed.

Lauren’s Luggage Helps Those In Need.  An Anne Arundel County fourth-grader took a bad situation and turned it into a great idea. She’s working to create an official non-profit organization for her program to help families who’ve lost their homes in a fire after her family suffered that same fate. Lauren Hontz and her family are now settled into a home in Severn. But just a few months ago, on July 7 their house in Hanover went up in flames from a grill fire. The family lost nearly everything.

Police Look For Annapolis 7-Eleven Robber.  Police are looking for the robber who struck at a 7-Eleven store in Annapolis. Anne Arundel County police said officers were called to the store in the 100 block of Defense Highway shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday for a report of an armed robbery.  Police said the robber entered the store, approached the counter and displayed what appeared to be a handgun. He demanded money from the register and the clerk complied by turning over an undisclosed amount of cash before the robber fled.

Alston Removed From Maryland House Of Delegates.  Prince George’s County’s Tiffany Alston no longer has a seat at the House of Delegates. In June, jurors found the Democrat who represented the 24th District guilty of misdemeanor theft for paying a law firm employee $800 in state money and using campaign funds for wedding expenses. Last month, she received a suspended sentence. On Tuesday, House Speaker Michael Busch announced Alston lost her seat in the General Assembly.
