Some Schools Closed For Fourth Day.  More than 25,000 lingering power outages will keep some schools closed for a fourth day. Anne Arundel County, as a district, is opening on time. However, only these four schools will remain closed Thursday: Lothian Elementary, Magothy River Middle, Severn River Middle, Southern Middle.

Tree Falls, Kills Man In Anne Arundel County. A man died after tree fell on him in Anne Arundel County. It happened on the 1600 block of Homewood Road in Annapolis at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Officials said the man, who was working for a contracting company, was taking down a tree when it fell on him. The man, who was not yet identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police: Man Robbed, Stabbed In Glen Burnie.  Anne Arundel County police said a 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries during robbery in Glen Burnie. Officers were called to an apartment in the 100 block of Faywood Court in Glen Burnie at 9:02 p.m. Tuesday. The victim told police he went to the 7400 block of Furnace Branch Road East for an arranged meeting with some people.

Superstorm Sandy’s Winds Whip MD House Fire.  Anne Arundel County fire officials said winds from superstorm Sandy fed a house fire in Edgewater that caused extensive damage. The fire broke out about 10:30 p.m. Monday. Firefighters arrived to find flames on the second story and the roof.
