On November 17, 2012, at approximately 5:00 a.m., officers from Southern District responded to 1300 block of Mt. Zion Marlboro Road in Lothian for a reported stabbing.
The investigation revealed that the stabbing took place a short distance away in the 5400 block of Sands Road in Lothian. An acquaintance drove the 50-year-old male victim to the AAA Ambulance Service for help. The victim was suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body and was transported Prince George’s Trauma Center for treatment. The injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
Based on statements from witnesses, the victim and the suspect knew each other and were involved in a disagreement prior to the stabbing. Several witnesses and the victim were able to identify the suspect as Jerome Otto Waters Sr. Officers from the Southern District Tactical Patrol Unit and District Detective Unit located and arrested Waters a few hours later at his residence. Waters was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.
