A Cornhill Street woman was killed last night in a vehicle accident in Odenton along Annapolis Road. According to police, Tori Danielle Stitely, 27, of Cornhill Street pulled out in front of an oncoming pick-up truck. However, the driver of the pick-up, was able to get out of her car and fled the area on foot.  The Anne Arundel County Police Department report is below:

On November 25, 2012, at approximately 8:18 p.m., officers from the Western District responded to the 1100 block of Annapolis Road in Odenton for a report of a serious crash involving two vehicles.

After the collision, the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado fled the scene on foot and failed to render aid to the injured Lexus driver. Witnesses described the driver who fled as a white female with brown hair wearing a pink tank top and jeans. Anne Arundel County Paramedics arrived on the scene and began to render aid to the driver of the Lexus, who was transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where she later died from the injuries sustained in the crash.

Crash investigators from the Traffic Safety Section responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Evidence collected at the scene indicates that the Chevrolet was traveling west on Annapolis Road when the Lexus, which was pulling out of the parking lot at 1144 Annapolis Road, suddenly pulled into the path of the Chevrolet. Consequently, the two vehicles collided and the Lexus came to rest in the grassy area on the south side of the road. The Chevrolet began to rotate and struck a telephone pole before coming to rest on the south edge of the roadway.

Initial investigation indicates that the cause of the crash appears to be that the Lexus failed to yield the right of way to the Chevrolet. It is unknown at this time if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in this crash. At this time, the driver of the Chevrolet is still at large. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this crash is asked to contact the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Traffic Safety Section at 410-222-8573.
