AACC To Stage “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Ticket sales are under way at Anne Arundel Community College for “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” a heart-warming holiday play about what transpires when the town’s notorious bad kids hijack the community’s annual Christmas pageant.

Performances are at 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, all in the Robert E. Kauffman Theater at the Pascal Center for Performing Arts on AACC’s Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway.

The story begins as Grace Bradley, who had offered to help with the town’s annual Christmas pageant, learns the longtime pageant director is laid up and Grace will have to manage the play by herself – starting with casting the pageant. The ragamuffin Herdman children showed up unexpectedly at the casting call and pandemonium ensues in the community when the Herdmans commandeer the main roles.

Cast as members of the Bradley family are Sarah Bierc of Pasadena as Grace, Tori Reilly of Edgewater as her daughter, Beth, who narrates the play; Miguel Valarino of Glen Burnie as her son Charlie and Jake Allegro of Cheverly as Grace’s husband, Bob. Cast as the horrible Herdmen kids are Callan Holderbaum of Annapolis as Ralph, Alex Scarselletta of Severna Park as Imogene, Maurice Taylor of Annapolis as Leroy, Cody Utz of Glen Burnie as Claude, Oliver Bridges of Stevensville as Ollie and Kathryn Sprandel of Croton as Gladys. Lars Tatom, associate professor of performing arts at AACC, directs the play.

Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 for senior citizens, outside students, AACC faculty and staff, active military and groups; and $7 for AACC students with ID. To obtain tickets, email [email protected] or call 410-777-2457.
