Navy Hockey Dominates University Of Maryland

It’s a cold November night in Annapolis and the back of Navy Hockey’s team T-shirts say it best with it’s “Hockey Night in Annapolis.” The slogan, taken from Canada’s famous broadcast of “Hockey Night in Canada,” proves true as evidenced by a full house for Saturday’s game against the University of Maryland at Navy’s McMullen Hockey Arena located across the Severn River and adjacent to the Naval Academy Golf Course. Navy dominated most of the game in UMD’s zone with a impressive 52 shots on goal and a 4-1 victory, which should of easily been a 5-1 game due to a missed call by the officials.

Of course like most USNA events you will find your die-hard Navy fans proudly wearing their Blue and Gold but with the growth of the Washington Capitals over the past 4 years, you will also spot a fair share of deprived NHL lockout fans, looking for any chance to catch a game this season. For only $5 per adult, this is a great family event that’s certainly worth checking out! The hockey team might get over shadowed by Navy’s football history, but with the Midshipmen only losing 2 regulation games this season they will soon be on their way to gaining their own recognition.
