Some MD Leaders Decry Taxes In Chesapeake Bay Cleanup Plan. On the heels of Hurricane Sandy, some state and local leaders who have linked pollution in the Chesapeake Bay to the Conowingo Dam and sediment from up river decry state laws and taxes that they said don’t address the mess. Some Maryland legislators said Thursday flood waters coming through the Conowingo Dam affect the bay’s health downstream.

Anne Arundel County Police Look For Hit And Run Vehicle.  The Anne Arundel County Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash in Brooklyn Park. Officers were called to Ritchie Highway northbound near Camrose Avenue at 12:37 a.m. Thursday after a pedestrian was struck in a hit-and-run crash.

Executive Order Affects Absentee Ballots. After two days of cancellations due to the wrath of Hurricane Sandy, Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley said early voting will resume Wednesday. Early voting, which began Saturday, was canceled Monday and Tuesday due to dangerous conditions from Hurricane Sandy. The absentee ballot application deadline has also been extended until Wednesday night.

Police: Man Sexually Assaulted Girl, 6, In Store Line.  Baltimore City police said they are looking for a man wanted in connection with a reported sex offense on a 6-year-old child. Detectives said a man, who was captured by video surveillance at the Family Dollar at 3645 Potee St. in south Baltimore, is being sought in connection with the incident that happened on Oct. 21.
